On June 14, after working a normal day in the office, our Director of Agricultural Operations, Loren Mochida, passed away while in a pasture he kept for his cattle. Loren’s passing was sudden and completely unexpected. Loren was a highly respected member of the state’s farm community for more than 40 years, frequently giving testimony to legislative groups and participating heavily in agricultural organizations. Beyond that, Loren graced our office with a friendly and open manner, always willing to dig in a help in whatever way he could. He will be greatly missed by all of us. Please keep his family in your prayers as they go through this period of transition and grief.
Loren’s service is scheduled for Saturday, July 6 at Dodo Mortuary in Hilo. Friends may call from 9:30 – 11:00am and the memorial service will begin at 11:00am.
